By all means do NOT 'upgrade' to Vista. Its the closest thing to WinMe
that MS has ever released. In years we will look back on Vista and
chuckle at how horrid it was and how many people fell for it. I have a
copy, installed it, and within a couple of hours I had formatted and
reinstalled XP which is by far a better OS.

Vista = AOL interface for people who are afraid of computers and need it
to look all nice and fluffy. PLUS all the 'added security' is YOU. The
OS does nothing. It only nags the **** out of you any time you try to
do anything. In fact when you simply cut and paste a file from one
directory on your hard drive to another, you have to confirm it 4-5
time. THEN if you turn off whatever that lame ass level of
'protection' is called, you get nagged constantly that your computer is
not secure. Yeah THATS added security. The MS philosophy with Vista
was "we can plug the holes so we will just bug the **** out of the user
any time anything writes something anywhere...

I am NOT a MS hater at all. I use a lot of their software on a daily
basis and do so by choice, but Vista and IE7 have to be the worst
examples of software ever released by MS. Do yourself a favor and stay
away, stay far far away.

I agree. Installed Vista 32 and 64 bit on two seperate computers. After
months of constant errors and bugs, I finally gave up and reinstalled XP.
It's nice to have my computers once again running smoothly without having to
constantly fix something.
