Hi,

When I check the Windows XP Update site for installed updates it shows that
about a dozen are not installed. Yet, when I do a search I find the updates
in the system 32 folder (or some other esoteric folder). Also Belarc Advisor
indicates all updates are properly installed. Who to believe?

Marc

Sasha,

Download the MBSA v.2.0 from the provided link on this page :

Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) 2.0 is available
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/895660

Follow the directions to determine if the updates have installed properly.

Marc,

Have you removed the contents of the SoftwareDistribution folder or any
of it's subfolders ? That would cause the History page at WU to be
different than from what is actually installed.
OR, you may need to reregister urlmon.dll

Click Start.
Choose Run.
In the Run box, type regsvr32 urlmon.dll
Click OK.
