Beta 8.5 - Unable to Disable "Show Windows Live Today After I Sign

It is my preference not to use Windows Live Today.

I installed Beta 8.5 and unchecked the "Show Windows Live Today After I Sign
In To Messenger" box on the general tab of the Options. When I click either
"OK" or "Apply" and then "OK", the Options Window closes but does not save my
preference. As a result, each time I open Beta 8.5, the Windows Live Today
window opens and I have to close it manually.

Is the a bug? If not, how to I make my preference stick with the beta?
