BF2 Blue Screen of Death

When ever I play Battlefield 2 online, after about 5 minutes of play the game
will freeze for about two seconds and then the blue screen of death will
appear telling me to restart the computer. I play using the highest graphics
levels and some other custom settings that I turned on in the nvidia control
panel. Changing or disabling any of these settings does not solve this
problem.

This problem does not occur on my other windows desktop. The game is running
in administrator mode, punkbuster would not work unless this was turned on,
and under compatibility for windows xp sp2.

This problem never occurred until I updated windows yesterday. Before that,
the game always ran fine. I have the latest version of vista with all updates
and the latest version of BF2. I also tried to reinstall BF2, but this did
not solve the problem. There is no one visible event in the game that can be
linked to the problem.

My laptop's specs:

Windows vista home premium @ 64 bit
Intel core 2 duo T5550 @1.83 GHz
4GB ram
Nvidia 8800M GTS with 512 MB
1440 x 900 resolution (I believe a lower one is used for BF2)
Wireless N using Bonjour and an apple airport extreme.

Your video card is overheating (most likely). Try opening your case and
sticking a big ole honking fan on your video card, see if that helps.

Which update did you install? Did you try system restore to remove the
update, see if that fixes the problem?

Oh laptop, well that sucks. Could still be a heating problem. Your video
card could be failing at some point. What's the error you're given with
the BSoD? (Usually third line on the blue screen in all caps) Is the
video card or CPU "overclocked" by either you or the factory? What
make/model is your lappy?
