I was using The Ultimate Troubleshooter to tweak my computer and saw a "Start
up" folder that was empty and hit the delete button. Well I got an error msg
that said deleting Start up is not allowed. So I thought I was okay but when
I left the full screen page of T.U.T., and rebooted there was no start button
no info bar and no task bar! Then things started going down hill from there.
Tried to get to system restore but couldn't. I was really trying to save all
my info which I did ,but not all is back to normal. First off my system is a
"brand new" 2003 Gateway which I pruchased in '03 but did not use until 6
months ago. 500XL 3.06, 2Gig Ram 230 Gig HD. I did all of the up dates to
SP2. All of the programs that I had installed on my system are still on the
HD. I am wondering if the System Restore files for that period of time are
also still there. SInce i reinstalled windows over the old mess in order to
save alll of my programs and files, my log screen is different as are my
email and internet settings. It is like the are 2 systems running and I have
an extra user on my system. I am need to try and get my files, docs and email
off of here but don't know how... there for the handle "Newbie". Very vague
here but I don't know any better. If I could get the system restore to go
back before the reinstall on the 10th it would be great! Help Please!

Do you have an available Restore Point that predates your use of TUT (e.g.,
09 Jun-07)? Can you use it to restore the machine to its state when the
Restore Point was created?

All about System Restore

List of files and folders System Restore monitors

TUT Support: (Don't bother if you didn't
purchase it)
