I have a laptop with XP connected to a printer. I have just bought a
Vista PC. Both are wireless.

TheXP laptop is configured for file and printer sharing.

If I open Network in the Vista PC it shows the laptop. If I double
click on the laptop I get a box asking for a user name and password.

The XP laptop has no password that I know of.

How can I access the laptop from the Vista PC?

HELP......

Hi,

The XP system has to have a user account with a password. It doesn't allow
for unpassworded accounts to share.

Go to Control Panel>Users, and give yourself a password. Log off, then log
back on.

Can the XP access the Vista?
Depending on how your XP has been set up for networking, if XP asks you for
a username and password to access Vista then give it a username and password.
Write it down.
