I discovered through searching this site it's my McAfee install. However I
couldn't find a patch or fix to the problem so i uninstalled the product. I'm
not going to use virus software that interferes with windows update. I think
that sort of defeats the purpose of it.
Thanks for you help though. Ultimately a customized install works as a work
around.
