Hi Dave,
Here are some steps that could try. After performing each, restart your
computer, go to Windows Update and see if the error message persists. If the
error persists, go to the next "step".
1) Since you have SP2 installed, in IE go to Tools>Manage add-ons ensure
that WuWebControlClass is activated.
2) See the troubleshooting steps here provided here:
http://www.updatexp.com/0x800B0004.html
The error message in the title is different than the one that you are
receiving, but some of those steps have been successful at solving the
0x8DDD0004 error.
3) D/load and install the Update for Background Intelligent Transfer Service
(BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
4) Download and install the V5 of Windows Update Active X Controls,
available from:
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/wusetup.cab
Save the file to a folder that you create on the Desktop. When the file has
been d/loaded, extract the files to this folder that you created. The files
are:
WUSETUP.CAT
WUSETUP.INF
Right click on the WUSETUP.INF file and select "Install"
Regards,
