Have the original Game and disk.
Downloaded the Patch 1.1 and at every attempt to Patch I get,
"Access Denied".

Anyone have any ideas to get around this annoying Vista Home
Premium X64 BOTHER?

Many thanks to all who might reply.

Have you tried running the patch as an administrator? To do this, right
click the patch executable, then click "run as administrator". If that's not
the case, it might not be directly related to Vista, or you might not be
logged in as an account authorized to run the program as administrator. You
may also want to make sure the folder that bioshock is located in is not a
"read only" type of folder, but how that would have changed I have no clue.
Run as administrator should fix the problem.

yeah, I did this the other day, Right-Click the Patch file and choose
"Run as Administrator", and it'll install.

If you want to get around these problems in the future, when the game
asks "Where do you want to install this game", install the game somewhere
OTHER than your Program Files folder (like C:\Games\)

Folders outside Program Files are unsecure and can be updated without
requireing Security Elevation.

Good luck
