On one of the machines that failed, could you do the following?
1. Verify that you are a local administrator:
a. Click Start
b. Click Run
c. type: cmd <Enter>
d. In the command window, type: net localgroup administrators <Enter>
e. See if the account you are currently logged on as is in that list.
2. Open the Windows Update log:
a. Click Start
b. Click Run
c. type: notepad %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log <Enter>
3. Search the end of the Windows Update log, and find the error code you are
receiving, such as:
0x80070005.
4. Post this error message back to this newsgroup and thread.
Sincerely,
Pat Walters [MSFT]
