BITS udate unsuccessfull

I just re installed XP Pro on my pc, I go to udates and try Express
Install... it comes back with the following:

Updates were unable to be successully installed.
The following updated were not installed:
Updates for Background Intelligent Transfer Service(BITS) and WinHTTP 5.1
(KB842773)

You should have an error number in the windows update.log. file.
and since I don't have it I can only suggest:

reading these two articles.
Software update incomplete" error message when you visit the Windows Update
Web site

Update package that includes Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)
version 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 is available for Windows XP

Is the machine part of a domain?
