i have been using windows vista ultimate for about 6 months now and to be
honest, i have love it. It is on my computer at work and i am the guy that
gets to try out.

however, recently, i have notice that not all my icons are showing for know
file extensions (at first i thought it was limited to MS office 2007
products) but have now realized that it is random and widespread. i tried
doing a system restore three different times and they all failed. i have
sent the reports but no solutions are available. i have also noticed that
the program uninstall feature has not been working with some programs.

for some examples of what program has lost their extensions: adobe acrobat,
all office 2007 pro products, roxio, hp update, adobe premiere, maxwell
render, quicktime, and sure thing CD labeler

my question is what would cause this? I can't remember doing anything that
would affect my machine like this. They only thing that i can think might be
releated is that i changed the owenership of my C drive. However, i did that
on my home laptop (which has vista home basic) with no problems.

any ideas?
