My Vist Ultimate Media Cetner machine has just starting doing something funny
where whenever it wakes up by itself (usually to record TV) the monitor comes
out of standby but remains completely black, with the mouse visible. It will
stay this way, never going back into standby (or screensaver) until I move
the mouse, or press a button or anything-only then will the monitor go back
to normal. Yea I can get around it by phyiscally turning off my monitor, but
isnt that what standby is for!? And when I forget: complete waste of
energy/ruining my screen with burn-in of the mouse.
I have read lots of problems people are having with vista suspend/resume,
but havent actually seen anyone with this particular issue, and thus have as
yet been unable to find any solutions. I've looked through the NeoSmart story
on Vista sleep problems
(
http://neosmart.net/blog/2006/vistas...akeup-support/) and I've tried
rolling back my ATI drivers, getting drivers for my monitors and nothing
seems to be working. The last thing I want to have to do is reinstall Vista
(again!). Anyone have any better ideas?
Thanks very much
