Black Screen

Recently after being infected with a virus the laptop goes to a blac
screen after the vista loading bar. In safe mode it freezes when loadin
crcdisk.sy

System restore was disabled, so I couldn't do that. Startup repai
didn't work

Any idea? I have a boot log if that help

AFD.sys is a Microsoft driver for winsock. Probably the driver is too
damaged to load.

At this point, you should retrieve any data that didn't make it into your
last backup and clean-install Windows. You can retrieve data even when you
can't boot into Windows by using a Linux Live CD (I prefer Knoppix), a
Bart's PE, or a similar rescue CD. Since you have a laptop, there is
probably a recovery process provided by the laptop mftr. Refer to the
manual or the mftr.'s website for how to restore your computer to factory
condition.

I understand that you don't want to reinstall but the harsh reality is that
you will probably have to. Of course, this is an educated guess on my part
based on many years of working on infected computers like yours because
naturally I can't see your computer. Get a second opinion from a competent
local computer tech who can examine/test/possibly fix the machine hands-on.
I don't recommend using a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place.

Why not try? all the data is backed up, so if all fails I will jus
reinstall
