blank/black screen hesitation [start/sleep]

hi all,

recently when i come out of sleep, or start up,
the computer seems to start normally, for a few seconds,
but then the screen goes black/blank for 2-3 seconds,
and then runs normally....

anyone else experience this?
other than this blank/black screen hesitation, the computer runs ok

I am not sure that I good understand you, but I thing that is restart fo
graphic settings, just black screen for few sec?

Hi Waterboy,

Yes, this is normal. It goes blank or black again because it is
reintializing the video device.

i've been running Vista for months; why is it all of sudden doing
this?

is it because of a recent upgrade/update?

Waterboy,

Could be a video driver update. ??

I have always had this happen for me from day one. I would not worry
about it unless it started to take longer. I never had a problem with
it.

When my Vista PC comes out of screen saver the task bar is there, but all of
the icons are hidden and the screen is black except for the gadgets.
