Blank Windows Update page

Greetings,
Presently, I have nothing more than WnXP, Office 2003, and NAV on this
system. When I attempt to get the Windows updates, the update page is blank.
I've downloaded and installed the Windows Script 5.6 file numerous times.
Each time, this allows access to the updates page but within a few munites,
the blank page appears again and a reinstall of the script file is needed?
Any ideas why constant installation of the Windows Script 5.6 file is
needed? NAV isn't the issue because the problem started before NAV was
installed. Thanks in advance.

Pas

Register JSCRIPT.DLL
Click Start, Choose Run.
In the Run box, type regsvr32 jscript.dll
Click OK.

You may also need to re-register the mshtml.dll

Security or Internet acceleration software, such as AtGuard by WRQ or Trend Micro's
PC-cillin by Trend Micro, may prevent the page from displaying correctly

This has been posted on the NG recently by Gary:

Go to tools, Internet options Security tab and select Trusted sites and select sites
and add http://*.microsoft.com to the list and make sure you uncheck Require server
verification (https for all sites in this zone and click ok. Next select Custom
level under trusted sites and select enable Initialize and script ActiveX controls
not marked as safe and click ok and ok again and see if that doesn't fix the problem.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've done as you suggested and hopefully,
things will work as they should. I appreciate the help immensely.

well, it worked...sort of. it worked fine until the next restart of windows.
before, it could happen after a restart or just while cruising the net. it
only happens now after a restart of windows. i'm open for any other
suggestions you or anyoen else may have. thanks for your earlier suggestion.
i thought it had corrected the problem.

windows script 5.6 was needed once again. any other ideas? i'm open for
