Block one update

Microsoft / Dell has released an Intel video driver update that is funky.
It installs automatically if Automatic Windows Update is turned on. The
user is unable to change resolution or any video settings. The answer is to
install the older driver.

I have been telling people to set Automatic Updates to download but not
automatically install. Because it does install it again.

Can anyone tell me how to block one particular update from Microsoft?

Thanks

Drivers are not installed using Automatic Update. They are only installed
if you choose to install them as an option on a manual Windows Update.

Tom;
There is an exception as rare as it is.
That is if the driver is a Critical Update.
That has been the case in the past where blue screens and other major issues
were traced back to a specific driver.

Chris;
Exactly which driver?
Are you sure you did not specifically select the driver?
If you did not select it and you have Automatic Updates enabled you should
still consider updating the driver.
Only a Critical Update driver will install automatically through Windows
Update..
But instead of getting it from Windows Update, get the driver directly from
the hardware manufacturer.
