How To Block Senders?

I use Windows Mail to read and reply to this newsgroup. I see mentions of
"plonk" and "kill file," etc., but I'm not seeing how to prevent downloading
of messages and replies from certain contributors.

I selected a message and used the menu command File | Junk Mail | Add Sender
to Blocked Senders List, but more messages from that sender come through
upon the next downloading of headers.

How do I block messages from certain senders?

Thanks
Brian

Actually it's Message - Junk e-mail - Add Sender....
It only blocks the email address that they are currently showing.
And trolls keep changing the email address.
When they change it, just add that one also.

You can also create a news rule to delete them.
Tools - Message Rules - News
in Actions, select "Mark it as read" and "Delete it".

You can also download stand dedicated 3rd party news readers that
have more powerful filtering methods, many of which are free.

Search Cnet Downloads or a comparable web site for "News Readers"
there you can decide for yourself which one looks good to try.

I'd recommend one but I don't want this to start a flame war. the
best way if you do decide to try a dedicated news reader is to try
them all until you find one that fits your needs.

Hope this helps

No need to start a flame war, to effectively block senders it really
helps to have a newsreader that allows scoring and there are not too
many:

They are 40tude Dialog, Pan, SLRN and Xnews (you REALLY need to update,
your version is several years old, current release is 2006.08.24).

Pan and SLRN are more used as Linux newsreaders but both have Windows
ports.

Help with any of the above and information on scoring are available at
news.software.readers
