Block a specific update

I am attempting to block a specific update that interferes with some other
software. The OS is XP Pro. Does anyone know of a way to block one
update while still allowing Auto Updates to run normally?

Depends on how you have Automatic Updates set up. Set it to " Notify me
but do not automatically download or install them ". Next time you're
notified that it's available click on the update icon in the System
tray, uncheck the box next to the specific update, click OK, then click
Hide this update.
You should no longer be notified about it.
