Blocked senders limit?

Using Windows Live Mail (release version). Not sure if this is a WLM
question or General Vista question.

Is there a limit on the number of blocked senders? Currently when I add a
sender to the blocked senders list and then go look in the list there it is.
A bit later when I look again it is no longer there. (Look at mail come back
to news, or shutdown mail and restart. )
So I keep seeing messages for posters with nothing useful as their addresses
will not stay in the blocked senders list.

It might be a security program blocking the Registry change it needs to
make. A few, but not all, of the programs now doing this are:
Ad-aware's Ad-Watch
IBM Access Connections
McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware
Norton AV
Spyware Blaster
Spybot> Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Spysweeper
Spyware Doctor
Windows Defender
Zone Alarm (free) 6.5 Reported to be fixed in later versions.

In the case of Zone Alarm 6.5 or Norton 2007 it actually has to be
uninstalled. Make sure the Windows Firewall is turned on until you
reinstall Zone Alarm.

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try the change.

Further on problem,
The problem appears when I add additional blocked senders, the last few
previously added will disappear.

For instance I added , and DX@DX. They were in the list.
Exited WLM and returned, they were still in list.

Added another address, DX@DX disappeared. Added another address,
disappeared. There seems to be some kind of limit, either
size of the area or number of entries.
My current solution is I have deleted all the entries and am starting over
with clean list.

I do have a McAfee installed, both incoming and outgoing email checking is
disabled.

Thanks for pointer that they are in the registry , I will be keeping an eye
out there if problem returns when gets full again.

Michael

Then there may be a limit IF you opened WinMail, checked the list, added,
and then something was gone that was there when you checked the list. The
way to see if it's the Registry being blocked is to add something, closr
WinMail, restart Windows and verify that the name is still there.

There appears to be a problem if an invalid email address is added, then
later items added after the invalid address and the invalid address
disappear. Difficult to pin it down.

For instance I cleaned out the list. Then added a hand full. Then added
DX@DX (note that is an invalid address in the sense that there is no root
domain (I.e. .com)). Then added a couple more. They stay in and I can add
others until I do a 'Synchronize all'.
Then the DX@DX and those added after it go away.

Currently solved by NOT adding invalid address.

Checking the registry, there are two lists, one appears to be associated
with my msn account (passport login) it is shorter than the other which is
associated with my local computer(?). The one at the passport is the one
that loses the addresses. I tried not logging in to my msn account to see if
the longer one then takes over but it does not seem to.

Hmmm.
I'm afraid to say more about Junk Mail. Personally, I use Message Rules
instead. They just do string matching, so invalid addresses are just fine.

I also use Message rules, a belt and suspenders type myself.

If I have further instight or problems I will probably open a new thread on
the live.mail.desktop group.

Thanks for your input.
