Blue Screen - Bad_Pool_Caller

I have a new Dell Precision laptop with Vista Ultimate that was built
from an image and I've been using it for 8 days. I was having problems
with Office 2007, so our tech team removed and re-installed the software
yesterday as well as some Windows Updates. Today when I came back from
lunch and brought it out of hibernate, the desktop appeared then went to
a Bad_Pool_Caller BSoD. It performed a dump then rebooted. I logged back
in and there was an event dialog box with details on the error:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: c2
BCP1: 00000007
BCP2: 0000110B
BCP3: 00226ED9
BCP4: B792B788

I checked and there was a .dmp created but no xml or txt files. There
were no entries placed in Event Viewer. Some of the info I've found
references a device driver issue. I checked device manager and all
hardware appears to be functioning properly. I would appreciate any
advice!

Google: vista bad_pooler_call ; there are just a few references to XP
and the first for vista. These might give you a clue.

I question if the install image is exactly correct for your notebook?
Also, given the problems with Office 2007, you might have done a repair
installation. Finally, why were Vista updates removed?

What does Dell say about this?

At eight days old, I would reinstall the image and start over, doing a
repair install on Office 2007 and leaving the updates as-is.

and download & install all the available drivers recommended
for Windows Vista and your specific Dell laptop model, including
the latest video adapter driver and BIOS updates.

Sorry for any confusion - The Vista updates were applied to the workstation
not removed. When they tried to repair the office setup, it kept bombing so
they had to hack it out and perform a new install.
I've not contacted Dell yet.
