Hi Joe,
"...for no reason at all I get the blue screen...."
First off, there's a reason - there has to be.
"...and the only way I can get out of it is to ctrl/alt/del and then hit
logoff and then it comes up with the administrator screen..."
Are you certain this is a blue screen stop error, aka the blue screen of
death (as mentioned in your subject line)? Or is it just a blue background
screen that suddenly appears? A stop error would literally stop the system
to prevent further damage by whatever has gone wrong. You would not be able
to use c-a-d or anything other than the power button. I suspect what you
actually have is the latter, which is indicative of a problem with the
explorer shell. Instead of logging off, try running explorer.exe from the
new task button on the applications tab.
Then restart in Safe mode and start some formal malware scanning, especially
for adware/spyware.
