Hi Peter--
I don't know the cause of the BSOD you got trying to use Sys Restore. What
are the key words on the stop message? You can freeze the BSOD to show you.
If you have the DVD try doing a startup repair from the recovery link on
the DVD when you put it in one screen after the language choice screen to
fix the BSOD problem.
Also using the Win Installer Cleanup Utility may help you uninstall the
software you were trying to uninstall in the first place.
