I ran into the same problem with the installation of the W2K update leading
to the blue screen after restart. I went through the process to get to the
recovery console, but did not have the directory
$NtUpdateRollupPackUninstall$. Instead, I found $MSI31Uninstall_KB893803v2$
and $NtUninstallKB842773$. Both of these have time/date stamps consistent
with the updating. Can these also be uninstalled to get me back to an
operating system? And if not, how do I get a working machine again?
I am able to use the Task Manager to run several applications using the "New
Task" button, so the OS is working - I just don't have any access to anything
via the windows (IE doesn't work, but Outlook Express does - ???!!!)
