Hello. I recently purchased a laptop, a compaq presari v3000 with dual core
celeron 1.86ghz and 512 mb ram. i removed the pre installed norton antivirus
because it was making my system crawl. afterwards, i installed the following
"major programs" or additions to my system. i added ms office 2003; also, i
installed and usually run itunes, a dictionary app, yahoo messenger and a
torrent client. in addition, i have several security programs. i have avg
free, avast home edition, and zone alarm firewall free, all running at start
up. basically, that is the nature of my system and the major changes that i
did. now, the problem is that in the short time that i have had this laptop
(four days?); i have already encountered this particular BLUESCREEN error
like 4 times and i really don't know what it means. it just shuts down my
computer automatically, and after reboot, it displays an error notification.
details as follows:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem signature
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.2
Locale ID: 13321

Files that help describe the problem (some files may no longer be available)
Mini081707-01.dmp
sysdata.xml
Version.txt

View a temporary copy of these files
Warning: If a virus or other security threat caused the problem, opening a
copy of the files could harm your computer.

Extra information about the problem
BCCode: 9f
BCP1: 00000003
BCP2: 8413EB98
BCP3: 843B53D0
BCP4: A5584760
OS Version: 6_0_6000
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i can't seem to find anything about this in any knwoledge base or in
internet resources, and i was wondering, hopefully, if someone has the same
problem, or knows what to do. could this be a problem with the ram? or am i
running too many things? or i read in somewhere that zone alarm still has
some issues with vista? could that be it? someone please help... thanks a lot
in advance.

Google "sysdata.xml error" and read the fixes in the first Computer.net link.
These are for XP, but should work for Vista. There are more links to research
if none of these work.

Go into Control panel\system and Maintenance\system\advanced system
settings\startup and recovery. Uncheck Automatically restart. Then write
down the stop codes and messages you are getting

It seems lots of people are getting this same problem, me included, and are
posting the prob under different headings. I cannot yet see any real answer
to it. I can't see why MSoft themselves haven't yet provided us with an
answer.
