Bluescreen when installing updates

When installing the latest updates (KB883939, etc...) I got through Automatic
Update the process stops after approximately 2-3 minutes.

I then get a bluescreen that says Page_fault_in_a _non_paged _area and the
system reboots.

I an running Windows XP with SP2 installed.

I would be most grateful for any help with this problem.

Try booting into Safe Mode with Network support and see if you can update
from there.

Thanks, but it did not work, unfortunately.

I get an error code on Microsofts page (0x80248011) when I try to install in
Safe Mode from Windows Update at Microsoft that I do not get when I try to
install in Normal Mode. In Normal Mode I eventually get the bluescreen.

Any other ideas?

Re: 0x00000050: PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA

See this reference at Aumha
http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

Click on 50: Page Fault

You need to cure this problem before doing any updates.
