One Week later.......so far no more BSOD

I reverted back to the original Nvidia video drivers that vista 64 installed
for my system
I am now using Version : 7.15.10.9746 of the NVIDIA driver dated :
22/08/2006. I have been running with this driver for a week now with NO
problems.......only time will tell.
My wife has not had a blue screen when she logs off.

I now believe the other Nvidia video drivers were causing memory corruption.

I was also having a problem with the AVG control center shutting down when
loading the desktop.
This problem seem to be corrected too.

I have retraced the steps I used to create a blue screen Logging off then
Logging my wife on & off many times since changing the video drivers back to
the original

I may have solved my problem........only time will tell.

I am running the 158.18's with no problems at all.
Are you sure you haven't got any overclocking in your bios?
That solved my mysterious BSOD's a couple of weeks ago.
I had not overclocked my chipset but there were some settings that were not
quite the default ones and wer causing the problem.

Hi Carlos:

I'm not over clocking the bios,lol would not know where to begin.

With all the old guys in this room,we should have a seniors section.....lol

I have XP-32,XP-64 all on the same machine as Vista 64. Vista 64 was the
only one giving me a hiccup.
That was the first blue screen I have had since loading Vista. Took a long
time to track down what was wrong.......Last Nvidia driver version I loaded
was 158.24. I'll stick with the drivers that came with Vista till Nvidia
makes a stable version for my video card.

Now if HP would get their head out of the sand & make a full version driver
for my photosmart printer,I'd be a happy camper.

Too Bad many companies won't support XP-64. I found it to be rock solid. 64
bit drivers are still a real problem for allot of people,both for XP-64 &
Vista 64.
They should have a company producing fully functional generic drivers for
all products that require drivers.

Have you heard any word on when a SP will be out for Vista?

I have not heard anything about SP1 for Vista.
There have been some posts about that matter but I can't recall in which NG.
That's the problem of gettin' old.

Since Windows Server 2008 and Vista share the same codebase, and since
Windows Server 2008 will release a service pack level 1, expect Vista SP1 to
release about the same time as WS2k8. I believe the roadmap calls for
around the end of the year.

This would be the reverse of the situation when XP Pro x64 released in 2005.
XP Pro x64 shares the WS2k3 codebase and WS2k3 SP1 and XP Pro x64 released
at about the same time so XP Pro x64 was already at service pack level 1 at
release.

Hello, Im running Vista Business x32 and using an nVidia GeForce 7900 GT and
whenever i try to play a game from an old game like starcraft to a new one
like Day Of Defeat, I get this Blue Screen of death with the same error
message. What did you say you did to fix the issue? You just uninstalled
the nVidia drivers and went with what came on Vista? Can you still close
displays and get the full features of the video card with that? And any
other sudgestions regarding this problem would be amazing. Thanx
