Hello, I am having a lot of trouble trying to get my bluetooth pc card to
work on activesync on my laptop will not recognize.

When I am in Control Panel>Ports>bluetoohere is no comm(comm11).
I right click >properties--there is no comm port tab for me to change to
comm 3, as shown here http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj/MSTBluetooth.html.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You're probably using the Widcomm software, since the Microsoft software
does not support PC Cards. Is this correct?

You have to create a COM port on your Bluetooth configuration and then
point ActiveSync to this port. The port must be an Incoming type, so
connection coming from outside your computer will use this port.

What Pocket PC are you using? This will determine how to configure
ActiveSync on your handheld.

Check the Bluetooth Guides (link in my sig below) and find the right
combination you need.

But ActiveSync only goes up to COM9. My Bluetooth ports start at COM11.

I am having the same problem with my Acer n30B. The Bluetooth "advanced
configuration - Local Services" tab shows port 11, but when I try to force
this port into the ActiveSync connection settings, the ONLY choices I have
are COM ports 1, 2 and 3. There is no way I can get it to accept port 11 !!
To make things more complicated my Acer shows port 5 as the internal port
and 6 as the external one. I am totally confused.
Can somebody help me, please ?

Thanks,

Mike

So you want us to kludge Bluetooth to fit the restrictions on ActiveSync?
Forget it. I just installed ActiveSync 4.0, it handles all the COM ports.
I guess I will have to live with the missing ethernet sync bug in 4.0 until
that is fixed.

I am suggesting a possible solution, currently the only one. The
restriction, as you pointed out is on ActiveSync. The solution is nothing to
do with Bluetooth, but with OS, so that it frees the ports not in use,
making then available for you to the configure at your leisure.

No, I don't want you changing anything on Bluetooth ;-)

Hi,
Actually ActiveSync 4.0 does NOT support all com ports based on what I see
on my Tablet PC.
