>From reading the Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for October, 2005,
it appears as though there are 9 patches to install,

critical: 904706, 902400, 896688

important: 899589, 905749, 907245, 900725

moderate: 905495, 905414

I did a manual update using IE and three of them did not install --
899589, 907245 and 905495. Also, when I did the manual update, two did
install that were not in the bulletin -- 890830 and 901017.

So, should I manually update the ones in the bulletin that I am
missing, or did they not install for a reason? If I go to the windows
update page and hit the express install button, it indicates there are
not updates that I need to download.

Is this normal for problems like this to occur?

Thanks

1. See the "Need more help? Tell us what problem you are having" section of
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=ph;en-us;6527

2. You cannot install some updates or programs
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798

3a. Check Windowsupdate.log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) for errors
associated with the download/install.

How to read the Windowsupdate.log file:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=902093

3b. Compare errors to those listed here:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive...date_codes.htm and/or go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com > click on Help and Support link in left
pane > Solve problems on your own.

4. Windows Update Checklist:
