Hello,

I need help and fast please....

I have this laptop that i received from Dell last july. Its an Studi
XPS 1640
Brief Spec:
INtel Core2 Duo T9400 with 2.53ghz

Everything was fine with it since last week when i got that erro
message at startup saying Windows Boot Manager (same as other user
threads)
File : \Boot\BCD
Status : 0xc00000e9
INfo : AN unexpected I/O error has occured.

Ive read all other posts on tha issue on vistaheads.com and th
solution look easy : reinstall Vista.

The issue here is that my computer doesnt prompt me to enter th
reinstallation software so im kinda stuck with only two options F2
enter setup or F12 : enter Boot Setup.

I Tried my vista reinstallation DVD for Dell : nothing happened
I Tries my new Windows 7 OS : nothing happened
I also tried the recovery disk that we can find online on NeoSmart.co
: nothing happened

THis computer is under warranty for 3 years so...... if i cant d
anything i will use the warranty but id rather fix it. (dont want t
wait like everybody else)

If it was a destop i would instal windows on an other drive then wip
the other through command prompt but... its a freaking laptop.

I spent like 10 hours on it so..... I hope u could help me fast its m
working/school computer and it worths 2500$.

P.S. I already checked if the internal devices were plugged so don
bother please.

Thank You Very Much Fredd

well, dell has a community
forum where their geeks
hang out.

go to dell.com and log into their
forums and repost your
question there.

----------------

also, most laptops have their
installation files for the software
embedded in a hidden partition
on the hard drive.

so ultimately and as a last resort
you should have the option to
restore the laptop back to its
original factory state.

the process is called "factory restore"
and is not the same as the windows
system restore or backup restores.

however, the factory restore will
wipe the hard drive of everything
before reinstalling the default programs
to the disk.

so keep in mind to move your personal
files off the disk before a factory restore.

also, you may want to run "SIW" and
write down all the product keys that it
will locate before executing a factory
restore.

the above is just some fyi.

good luck!
wipe away everything on the
hard drive
