Well all is still well except that neither of the two SATA drives are
seen in disk management and re-scanning disks does not help. Not seen in
windows explorer either.

Oh well, at least the SATA drives do not stop the system booting<G>

Cheers

Check your BIOS settings for the SATA drives

John thanks but I may be being very dull but all I see are my four SCSI
drives and two entries as follows:

PCI BEV: NVIDIA Boot Agent 229.052
PCI BEV: 2-NVIDIA Boot Agent229.0

also CD drive
and Legacy network card

There are no SATA drives to be seen...by me at any rate<G> Where should
they be seen?

Cheers

Richard

Thanks for that. It's tough when things go wrong and you feel ill
equipped to deal well with them. There simply cannot be too much to get
this sorted now as I can at least boot up from the SCSI drive with the
SATA drives connected but cannot see them yet.

Cheers

I think a BIOS update ia required to resolve the problem because the
1.05 BIOS release notes mention resolving a problem with enumerating
SATA drives. This is the root of your problem, and may also allow the
display of the SCSISelect configuration prompt. There are links on this
page http://www.tyan.com/support_download...?model=S.S2895
explaining how to flash your BIOS.

Now you have re-enabled the nVidia RAID the SATA drives are seen as an
unconfigured RAID array. This is not useful unless you are going to
reconfigure them as a RAID array.

I am afraid Nottingham is not just down the road from South Wales.

OK I have now disabled the RAID.

That is a shame...only a thought!
