Anyone knows what the name of the boot file is in Vista? There is no
boot.ini on my PC, so I don't know how to look in the boot options.

Boot.ini is not used by Vista. The boot information is in the hidden BCD
folder on the C: drive now.

You have to use BCDEdit to edit it, but it is easier to use VistaBootPRO:

The Folder is called BOOT.

But looking in it is not relevant as you need to use the BCDEdit tool to
modify anything.
No more text based INI files.

OK, thanks a lot! Before modyfying anything I want to take a backup. Is that
possible?

Vistaboot Pro (the program mentioned by SS in an earlier response) has a
backup function.
