I will try to explain as best as I can.
I installed Vista as a dual boot (2) separate hard drives C:\Vista and
D:\XP. I used Easy BCD 1.52.
When I decided that I wanted to delete XP and the dual boot setup, I went
into EBCD and deleted the XP boot option. WRONG!!!
This is where the problems started. I was trying to format the D:\
partition after that and was not able to do so. No matter what I tried it
would not format.
So I decided to reinstall Vista to the C:\ drive. When I got the option to
format the D:\ partition during installation I took the opportunity to do so.
Un be known to me the boot files where again installed onto D:\ and the
system files installed onto C:\. I am now back where I was a week ago. I
can’t format the D:\ drive because Boot and Bootmgr on are the D:\ drive. If
I delete them (very hard to do) then I have no boot files to reboot.
What can I do in this situation short of a complete reinstall? Is there any
way to move the Boot files to C:\?
Thanks Irv
