Hello

This may be simple question, but how do you get Vista to boot into th
Standard user account instead of the default Administrator account.
tried logging off the Administrator account and switching to th
Standard account and shutting down the computer. When Vista starts up
it starts in the Administrator account again. I'm sure that I am missin
something simple. Can someone point me in the right direction please

Thank you
Shaw

So you have it set up to auto logon to the built in Administrator account?
That account is disabled by default and Vista is set up to go to the Welcome
Screen by default so you changed both those settings.

To change the auto login go to Start | Run. Type in control userpasswords2.
Click ok. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And
Password To Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name and
password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start your
computer.

Hi Rock

No, not the "built-in REAL administrator account". It was just th
default restricted Administrator account Vista gives you at setup. I wa
wanting to restrict access further by running in the Standard accoun
and only using the Administrator account for configuration stuff

Thank you, this has helped
