In other words, XP was not on the C drive when you installed Vista? If
that's the case, I think that might be the issue. Before resorting to
anything drastic, try using VistaBoot Pro,
http://www.vistabootpro.org/,
it's free, and much easier to work with than BCDEdit and maybe it will be
able to get it working for you.
