boot repair

I made an attempt to add ubuntu the other day, it semi took. When I triedto
boot to it today, there was nothing there. But.. There was a screen with many
different options on how to boot, repair, diagnose etc.. Tools everyone needs
but can't access.
I don't really want to re-install ubuntu just to find all those utils. Isthere
another way to get a boot repair screen with all the different utils on it ?

You need to reformat your hard drive and reinstall
Windows Vista. Ubuntu is not what its cracked up
to be.

Besides the fact this doesn't answer my question. In this you're wrong. Idid
run it, and found the similarities in it and Amiga to be very close, in
addition it didn't 'not responding' with every program it opened.
Only reason I'm not using it is cause my TV doesn't currently support linux.
I think it's a big improvement over Vista.
It's a fine OS. Just needs more software support.

I agree with that. The only thing is, the Amiga was popular twenty years
ago. I bought mine in 1987.

Perhaps you should be asking your question in the Linux/Ubuntu newsgroup
instead of Vista.

Yup, Linux versions have been this way for the last 15, or so, years
that I know of.

I would say read what I asked. But it's obvious you must have since you quoted
it.
It has nothing to do with linux or ubuntu. It's a Vista repair screen that pops
up.
The fact it was a semi install of ubuntu that gave me access to these extensive
VISTA repair tools is only secondary.
I'd like to access those tools without installing something damaging to get to
the page.

Thanks for clarifying that. No where in your post did you even mention
Vista, let alone that you were trying to boot onto Vista to get to the
Vista repair tools. I don't know why you think you might have to
reinstall Ubuntu to get to the Vista programs. But, I'm sure you know best!
