Bootup Question

Starting a few weeks ago, when I boot up I get the jingle and then a "Please
wait" message before I'm asked for my password. It takes about 30 seconds
until this message clears and I can enter my password to log on.
Previously, I would get the jingle and go right to the password entry.

Any idea why the change?
