I have an HP laptop with Vista Business preinstalled.
When I turn the laptop on it goes through it's BIOS dialogue then just as
I'm expecting the "Microsoft Corporation" progress bar nothing happens.
The HDD spins down and the screen stays black.
I hit the power button (it powers down in about 1 second) and turn it on
again.
BIOS dialogue followed by a menu offering me windows repair or start normal.
I start normal and all is fine.
I have chose the repair previously in case it was a reoccurring problem.

Anyone know what could be causing this?
Vista, BIOS, Laptop, other?

Jay

Unplug ALL devices... ThumbDrives, Memory Cards... everything and then try.
Check A/C plug for proper power.

The only device is an HP USB mouse.
A/C is working fine.

Check your BIOS settings for BOOT DEVICE preferences.
