Breaking News Alerts "Popup"

I just installed Windows Live Messenger 8.1. On my earlier version, I was
getting breaking news pop up alerts. Now with the new installation, I'm not
getting the alerts. Any Ideas?

Hi Bill,

You may need to go to the Alerts tab and check that the "Your alerts are:"
radio button is set to On. In addition, you may want to check the status of
the alerts that you currently are subscribed to.

Also note that if you've set messenger to ask for a password in the security
options, you may not get the alerts until you've signed in to the alerts
tab.

Do you mean the "Today" window?
