Bridged Network problem

Hello,
My DOS VM has ip 192.168.2.2
Gateway 192.168.2.1
In this setup, I have only one DNS,
namely 192.168.2.1
so it isn't capable to connect to the internet
I use bridged network for network setup in the host
And use Miniport inside VPC2007...
I use bridged network because I want to
connect the host, VPC2007 and VMWare together so
that they can ping each other. I've tried for a few days
without success.... Could anyone lend me a hand?

Why did you give it a static IP? Why not let it get its network config
from DHCP?

Do an ipconfig on both the host and guest and compare the results. They
should be identical (apart from the actual IP address).

Dear Bill,
I'd like to give the file server (VMWare) a static address,
So I can access it from VPC2007 side. Is it the correct way of doing it?

Sure it will work if the vm is in the same network and you give it an IP
in the same subnet.

There is nothing magical about virtual machines or virtual networks.
TCP/IP still works the same way.

Give the VPC VM an IP of 192.168.2.3 and the fileserver in VMW an IP
of 192.168.2.4.

If your DNS is just your router, you probably aren't going to get an
kind of name resolution for your IPs.
