Brightness Level Opens Messenger

Whenever I adjust the brightness level of my laptop's monitor, m
Windows Live Messenger automatically opens up. I was just wondering i
anyone knows the reason for this phenomenon and if there were a settin
I could select or deselect to stop this from happening

Greetings,

I've never heard of such a thing. I see no reason why it would trigger Messenger's API or
specifically start Messenger.

What sort of laptop is this?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 with Windows Vista Home Premium.

I don't know about DanMat6288, but I have the same problem on a Dell Studio
XPS 13. Namely, when I click Fn + Down Arrow, which is a way to reduce
built-in screen's brightness, messenger loads.

That's true even if it's not even running in the background (at least not as
an app., perhaps it has a service running).

Please advise.

Problem probably caused by conflict with IntelliType Pro. See more here:
