Broadband Network Utility Update keeps repeating

I keep getting warnings about a broadband networking utility update, but
when I look at the additional information it is version 2.20 dated July 2004
which I first installed soon after it was released and many times since. My
utility is already at version 2.2.0.731, which is the version listed at the
information page. Do I really need to install this update yet again, or if
not is there something I can do to disable the warnings?

I had a similar problem with a video driver update and I
found this:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...leshoot/#Other
Problem Description:
You download a driver and it states that the install was
successful. When you go back to the Windows Update site
the driver is available for installation again.

Resolutions:
This problem is specific to the driver in question.
Please report this problem to Microsoft Product Support.
There is no charge for this support call or Web incident.

Please collect the Windows Update.log and SetupAPI.log
from the Windows directory folder (or the Winnt folder on
Windows 2000) from on the affected machine and be ready
to provide these to Microsoft Product Support.

Thank you for your comment. It turns out that it is the firmware version
number in the base station that is triggering the download message. The
problem has been tracked down to hardware - the base station is reporting
the update as complete and OK, but it is not reporting the updated version
number. The unit has been returned to MS for replacement under warranty.
