How do you find and enable the broadcom adapter. My wireless stopped working
on my laptop and everything I read and tried states to enable the wireless
adapter. Can't find it. Running Vista Ultimate 32 with preinstall Broadcom
802.11 Multiband Network Adapter install. No where in any programs can I find
anything with thw words "wireless Network". Everything was working good until
three dasy ago. Started up computer and wireless was gone. Router and other
systems works. Help

First you need to tell us what kind(make and model) of laptop you have.

And then you need to search your laptop from edge to edge(meant
literally) for the switch the turns the radio on or off. It may be a
button. Usually thats what it is thats giving you the problem.

My laptop is a HP Compaq Presario V600N. The switch is next to the icon
stating wireless. I have played with it a number of times. It would only turn
on and off the bluetooth devices.

Right click Computer and select Manage.

Expand Services and Applications
Click On Services.
Scroll down to Wired AutoConfig and make sure it is set to Automatic
and then Start the service.

I know it says Wired AutoConfig but if you click on it this is the description:
This service performs IEEE 802.1X authentication on Ethernet interfaces

I have tried this several times before and the same results. I re-did it with
the same results. Nothing.

Have you checked device manager and tried the old trick of deleting the wireless adapter and rebooting?

Thats good advice. But can't find driver in device mamager. I even downloaded
a broadcom 8002.11 up to date, nothing worked. I followed a previous advice
of removing the adapter ( once I found it) pluged it back in with power to
see if system would notice. Nothing.

I would like to thank everyone for their help. For what every reason, the
driver reloaded in Device Manager and the wireless system started working. I
had not done anything to it since receiving guidance from Steve. if it went
out once, I know it will again. Fingers crossed. THANKS

Hi everyone,
I'm writing from Brazil. I've read all of these msg about the wireless card.
I have a notebook HP dv pavilion dv6308nr.
I have also the same problems that is related here. And I have done also
everything you said to do.
Nothing worked.
I know that It will restart automaticly but after It will stop again.
Do anyone know how can we fix this problem?
Thanks

Robertson
