Broadcom - WLAN gone

Microsoft Update advised that broadcom (hardware) needed to be updated.

But several attempts resulted in failure & I now have no wireless ability at
all!!

error 0x80070002: Broadcom - Networking - Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN"

Windows XP PRO with SP2.

Just be happy about that you might have endedd up with a nice blue screen

Never download / install hardware drivers from MS, go to the manufacturers
websie if an update is really neede: if it ain'y broke: do NOT fix it.

I have got the same problem with my HP laptop and Windows Vista Home edition.

I have tried many things but no result. Could anyone tell me how I can sort
out the issue without going to full recovery process?

this also has happened to me .. i even did the system recovery and rebooted
my whole computer to the way i got it and still my wlan doesnt even work i
have a HP laptop with vista. i also went to the HP site and downloaded the
broadcom driver and nothing happened..can you please help me out

Hi there,

Try rolling back on the driver, do a system restore or restore from the
backup you hopefully made.

Only update the drivers if your hardware is not working well or an
application needs the update to work.

If it ain't broke: do not try to" FIX" it.

Only take drivers for Microsoft Hardware from Windows Update, other drivers
should be ontained from the manufacturer, in this case Broadcom.
