It has been recommended for Internet safety that we open a new browser for
sensitive information, and then close it and open another before moving on to
other websites. Does a tab work the same way? That is, if I keep a sensitive
website on a tab by itself, does it accomplish the same thing, or do I still
need to close the browser? Thanks.

Hi,

Depends upon your IE version and OS version.

IE8 is hardened against Cross Site Scripting (search for XSS).

You should however add sites that require a secure connection (https) to
your Trusted sites zone (Internet Options - Security tab).

It would not hurt to ALWAYS open your Banking account sites in their own
window, but that would still not stop spyware recording your tracks.

Regards.
