Browser closes when typing MSN, Google or Yahoo search

I'm running XP SP2.

Since 2 weeks, Google, MSNSearch and Yahoo searches react strange. Searches
on Excite still work fine. This problem occurs both with IE, Netscape &
Mozilla (i.e. independent from the type of browser).

When entering a search en pressing return, either
1) The browser closes without showing any error message or
2) The search entry results a list of found items, including as the first 10
items nonsense items linking to porn & gambling sites.

I'm afraid my system is infected with some kind of Trojan, but Spybot,
Ad-Aware, AVG and Panda Antivirus fail to detect anything.

I am sorry that you are hitting this issue. This does not seem like a
Windows Update problem. Perhaps these other newsgroups would be more
helpful:
