When opening my browser I get Windows Update instead of my Home Page. It
tells me each time that I need to download and install Cumulative Security
Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB889293). I have done this
and the installation history shows that it has installed successfully.
However, every time I open my browser this still occurs with the same
security update request. If I open a second browser my home page appears but
I keep getting the Windows Update pop up. I recently went to having problems
with my registry which requires me to reboot everytime I start my computer.
It restarts and backs up with a previous start before it will proceed. I can
then use my computer. The problem with the Windows Update began at about the
same time as the registry problem. Can anyone help me out since I do not
know what to do?
