why is this site http://www.kemmcnair.com/ asking me to download Windows
Media Player when I already have it installed??

It's probably wanting to add a plug-in.

If you're not sure about the site, then go somewhere else. It might
be trying to load malware.

Is that not QuickTime Player, Maya? At least that is what I can figure out
from the html code.

Like Nonny says, you are not asked to download WMP, just a plug-in for your
browser so that it can utilise the media player to display video content on
the web page.

Such plug-ins exists for both Windows Media Player and Apple Quick Time, and
they are fairly safe. However, if you choose to install QuickTime you
install Apple's media player. You should consider wether you really want two
players or not.

QuickTime is a virus, do not allow it on your machine.

It's almost as bad as Real Player.

Afaik, it is not classified as spy-/ad-/grayware like RealPlayer (although
it does "phone home" to ad-servers), but to be honest: I have not had it on
any computer of mine for ages. One media player is sufficient.
