browser redirected to startsearches.net

When I click on explorer I am redirected to startsearches.net
However when I type in a new url everything seems to be fine
yahoo is my launch site

does anyone know how to get rid of this?

Adaware + SpyBot, both free, update both before running. may help

I am sure the system is infected with some spyware.

Run Adware (its available free for home users)as suggested by DL.
