Hi, im running a pre-installed version of 32bit vista home premium. the
service pack installed to 100% complete for stage 2 of 3, then restarted. The
blue screen with the "problem starting" info mentioned error code 947366.
clicking to start windows normally resulted in the same prob, so i clicked to
load a restore point. the same thing happened with the admin acc and virus
checker (kaspersky) disabled.
Don't know if it helps, but windows defender has not recognised my virus
protection for months and keeps suggesting to turn defender ON when it
already is.
any help would be appreciated.
cheers,
Graham

On the offchance that you have X-Fi soundcard, uninstall and physically
remove it before installing, that fixed it for me. (Really, X-Fi is the only
thing that has ever caused a BSoD for me in Vista, I didn't see the relapse
coming for SP1, but there it was...)
